PLASTIC POLLUTION AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
Plastic Pollution is detrimental to aquatic and terrestrial animals as it’s destroys their habitats at an alarming rate. It also contributes immensely to environmental pollution. In Ghana, plastic pollution is pronounced with relative annual import of 10,000 metric tonnes according to (Agbai, 2018). Moreover, Kortei & Quansah, (2016) indicated that Greater Accra alone generates about 300 tonnes of plastic waste on daily basis at a rate of 0.016 to 0.035 kg/person/day.
Unfortunately, most of these wastes end up in our water bodies killing aquatic animals and rendering our water bodies unsafe for human consumption.
This is why we at #Nsemkafo Consult prioritizes and advocates for recycling and substantial reduction in the import of plastics and the adoption of biodegradable materials as packaging units.
Let’s stand together and fight against plastic pollution.
