NATURAL RESOURCES
We promote natural resource governance via SBCC communication by connecting the norms, institutions, structures and processes that determine how power and responsibilities over natural resources are exercised, how decisions are taken, and how citizens including Indigenous Peoples, local communities, people of all genders, and how others can participate in.
We believe governance is a critical determinant of the social equity, effectiveness and sustainability of natural resource use and conservation.
We support improving natural resource governance, including securing rights and sharing power and responsibilities, benefits both people and nature.
At Nsemkafo our four pillars of sustainability involve human, social, economic, and environmental benefits. In all these, our environmental sustainability aims to improve human welfare through the protection of natural capital.
We believe improved natural resources governance will contribute towards fiscal revenue, income, and poverty reduction, provide jobs and sustain the basis of livelihoods in poorer communities.
We are convinced that owing to this fundamental importance of natural resources, they must be managed sustainably through the principles of transparency, responsibility, accountability, participation and responsiveness.
